Trichomalus lucidus (parasitoid) (Walker, 1835)
This wasp is a solitary ectoparasitoid of larvae of the cabbage seedpod weevil, Ceutorhynchus obstrictus in Europe and North America. It is native to Europe and has been introduced into North America against C. obstrictus in 1949, under the name Trichomalus fasciatus (= Trichomalus bracteatus). It is now a common parasitoid of C. obstrictus in Canada and rates of parasitism can reach 50% (Mason et al., 2011). In North American records, it has been apparently often misidentified as Trichomalus perfectus (see Gibson et al., 2005).
