Triatoma sanguisuga (LeConte, 1856)
This kissing bug is found in Central America, southern parts of North America and northern parts of South America. It feeds on mammals, including humans, domestic and wild mammals, but also on frogs. It can carry the Chagas disease vector Trypanosoma cruzi and cases of transmission to humans have been reported. It lives in houses, burrows of animals and other habitats like rocks and leaf litter.
