Tomato leaf curl Karnataka virus (ToLCKV)

This virus has been reported from India, where it infects tomato and various other crops. The symptoms include deformation, yellowing and vein clearing of the leaves. Like other geminiviruses it is transmitted by whiteflies. Molecular studies have suggested that the virus is a recombinant of several other leaf-curl viruses like Tomato leaf curl Bangladesh virus or Cotton leaf curl Multan virus (Chatchawankanphanich & Maxwell, 2002).
