Thielaviopsis radicicola (Bliss) Z.W. de Beer & W.C. Allen 2016

The fungus causes black scorch of date palms in the Near East. It is soil-borne and infects the palms during mechanical injuries or cracks in the roots caused by changes of the soil moisture. It has been also reported to cause fruit rot on citrus in Iran.
