Tetranychus kanzawai Kishida, 1927 - (Kanzawa spider mite)

The mite is a serious, highly polyphagous pest in Asia. Among others, it attacks tea, horticultural crops and deciduous fruit trees. It is very similar in size and biology to Tetranychus urticae. The females have a carmine colour. The mites form silken webs on the leaf surface and live under these webs.
