Stephanitis Stål, 1873
This genus of lace bugs is widely distributed and includes around 70 species. Several of them are regarded as pests of crops or forest trees. For example Stephanitis pyrioides is invasive in North America where it infests ornamental shrubs. The genus is characterized by the large pronotal hood that covers the head completely.
