Stagonosporopsis valerianellae (Gindrat, Semecnik & Bolay) Aveskamp, Gruyter & Verkley 2010
This fungus has been reported from different parts of Europe as a pathogen of cornsalad (Valerianella). It causes damping-off with brown lesions on stems and leaves, followed by a collapse and decay of the plants. It is often transmitted through the seeds and then predominantly affects the seedlings (Schmitt et al., 2009).
