Spermacoce latifolia (weed) Aubl. - (oval-leaf false buttonweed)

This weed is native to tropical parts of South and Central America. It is regarded as introduced in tropical Africa, Asia, some Pacific islands, Australia, as well as in Florida. In some areas like South America and some Pacific islands, it is regarded as an agricultural weed, affecting crops like soybean or maize.

S. latifolia usually grows to a height of around 50 cm. The leaves are broad and hairy. The flower heads emerge from the stems and the flowers are small and white.
