Rubus (weeds) L.

The genus Rubus contains the blackberries and raspberries. Various species are considered weedy and invasive. Some of these have been introduced for their fruits and have invaded forests and recreational areas, forming dense thickets or replacing native species. The spiny stems and regrowth from the roots make control or eradication difficult. Examples of weedy Prunus species are wild blackberry and Himalayan blackberry.
