Puccinia poarum P. Nielsen 1877 - (bluegrass rust)

This fungus is widely distributed and causes rust diseases on grasses and coltsfoot. Orange-yellow uredinia are formed on infected grasses like those of the genera Poa, Agrostis or Festuca. Some cultivars are resistant against the rust. Telia are black and produce two-celled teliospores. The aecial hosts are coltsfoot (Tussilago and Petasites).
