Puccinia helianthi Schwein. 1822 - (sunflower rust)
This rust fungus is widely distributed and infects wild and cultivated species of Helianthus. Infections can cause significant losses in yield and seed quality. Planting resistant sunflower cultivars is the most effective management option.
