Puccinia cannae (G. Winter) Henn. 1902
This fungus is widely distributed and causes rust on ornamental Canna plants. Both leaf surfaces are covered with orange-yellow pustules, sometimes over the entire surface. Infected areas become necrotic. Urediniospores are nearly spherical, egg- or pear shaped. They are around 25-40 x 20-25 µm large with spines and two equatorial pores. The teliospores are typically club-shaped, slightly constricted at the septum, pale-brown and about 45-70 x 15-20 µm large.
