Puccinia arachidis Speg. 1884 - (groundnut/peanut rust)
This fungus is widely distributed and causes an important rust disease of groundnuts. Yield reduction can reach 50%. Orange uredinial pustules are produced on the lower leaf surface which rupture to release the reddish brown urediniospores.
