Pseudophilothrips ichini (weed bioagent) (Hood, 1949) - (Brazilian peppertree thrips)

This thrips is found in Brazil on the Brazilian peppertree, Schinus terebinthifolius, a serious weed in south-eastern North America and in Hawaii. It is being studied as an agent for classical biological control in North America. However, the issue is complicated by the occurrence of several closely related species in Brazil.
