Primulaceae - (primrose family)

This family contains around 2,800 species of herbs and woody plants. Several are grown as ornamentals, but a few are regarded as agricultural weeds. For example, scarlet pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis) is widely distributed and a weed in a variety of field crops like cereals, grapevine, potatoes or sunflowers.
