Pleosporales (weed pathogens)
This order contains more than 150 genera and includes serious plant pathogens. However, several species are being investigated or used as biological control agents of weeds. This page deals with the latter group. The fruiting bodies (ascomata) are usually spherical with a perithecia-like opening. The asci are bitunicate and the ascospores mostly septate.
Note:
Please note that this page only deals with weed pathogens, for other groups of Pleosporales see:
- Pleosporales (as crop pathogens)
- Pleosporales (antagonistic to plant diseases)
- Pleosporales (entomopathogens)
