Phlebotomus major Annandale, 1910

This sand fly is found in southern Asia and bites cattle, humans and other mammals. It is considered a potential vectors of leishmaniasis. When the larvae are reared on a mixture of rabbit feces and rabbit food, the life cycle last around 2 months.
