Phenacoccus aceris (Signoret, 1875) - (apple mealybug)

This mealybug is native to Europe and temperate parts of Asia, but an introduced pest in North America. It is polyphagous, feeding for example on grapevine, fruit and forest trees. It is also an important vector of plant viruses like Little cherry virus 2, Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 1, or Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3.
