Pestalotiopsis camelliae Y.M. Zhang, Maharachchikumbura & K.D. Hyde 2012
This fungus causes a leafspot and blight disease of tea plants in Asia. Initially, small brown spots develop that gradually enlarge to brown or black lesions. The lesions become covered with black acervuli that changed to a light gray at the late stage of the disease (Chen et al., 2017). "Tea gray blight" is caused by this and other fungi like Pestalotiopsis longiseta. The disease can result in yield losses of up to 20%.
