Pentalonia Coquerel, 1859

This genus of aphids includes 3 species. These have very small hindwings and dark veins, typically lined with conspicuous dark shadows. Economically, the banana aphid, Pentalonia nigronervosa, is the most important species, a pest of bananas and a vector of the Banana bunchy top virus.
