Pectobacterium brasiliense Portier et al. 2019
This bacterium is widely distributed and infects mainly potatoes, caussing a soft rot disease. A number of other crops like cucurbits have been also reported as hosts. P. brasiliense is closely related to Pectobacterium carotovorum and has been originally described as a subspecies of P. carotovorum (Nabhan et al., 2012). However, it has been elevated to a separate species in 2019 (Portier et al., 2019).
