Paropsisterna bimaculata (Olivier, 1807) - (Tasmanian eucalyptus leaf beetle)
This species of leaf beetle is native to Tasmania and an important pest of eucalypt plantations there. For example, it causes serious outbreaks on Eucalyptus nitens since the 1970s when that eucalypt species was introduced into Tasmania (e.g. see Baker et al., 2002).
