Paropsisterna agricola (Chapuis, 1877) - (southern eucalypt beetle)

This eucalypt beetle is native to south-eastern parts of mainland Australia and to Tasmania. It has become a serious pest of eucalypt plantations in Tasmania, e.g. Eucalyptus nitens. Female beetles lay their eggs mainly on young leaves, where the larvae live gregarious. Adults also feed on mature leaves.
