Panstrongylus megistus (Burmeister 1835)
This species of kissing bug is an important vector of Chagas disease, caused by Trypanosoma cruzi, in South America. It is found in southern and north-eastern parts of Brazil and mainly lives in forested areas. However, it can also invade houses and bite humans.
