Pachnaeus litus Germar, 1824 - (southern citrus root weevil)
This weevil is found in southern Florida and parts of Central America. It is an occasional pest of citrus but also has other hosts. It can be distinguished from the northern citrus root weevil (Pachnaeus opalus) by the anterior margin of the elytra which is smooth in P. opalus and strongly wavy in P. litus.
