Oxycarenus hyalinipennis (A. Costa, 1847) - (cotton seed bug)

This bug is native to tropical parts of Africa and Asia where it is mainly a pest of cotton, feeding on all parts of that plant. It has been accidentally introduced to South and Central America (e.g. see Smith & Brambila, 2008).
