Orthotospovirus chrysanthinecrocaulis

Assigned virus:
melon severe mosaic virus (MSMV)

The melon severe mosaic virus has been described from Mexico as causing mosaic symptoms on melon and watermelon (Ciuffo et al., 2009). Phylogenetic analysis revealed it to be most closely related to the 'chrysanthemum stem necrosis virus' (Orthotospovirus chrysanthinecrocaulis).
