Orchid fleck dichorhavirus (OFV)
The virus is economically important on orchids in Asia, Australia, Europe and in the Americas. Various orchid species, as well as crops like citrus, can become infected. The symptoms include necrotic and chlorotic leaf lesions, as well as ringspot symptoms. It is transmitted by the mite Brevipalpus californicus.
The particles are non-enveloped and bacilliform, 150 x 40 nm, with 2 ssRNAs. The virus is the type member of the genus Dichorhavirus which is characterized by a segmented genome and not enveloped particles.
