Ophraella communa (weed bioagent) LeSage - (ragweed beetle)
The beetle feeds on some species of ragweeds (Ambrosia), especially on the important weed Ambrosia artemisiifolia and is considered an effective agent for that weed. It is native to North America, but has been accidentially introduced into various countries like Japan (first record 1996), Korea (2000), China (2001) and northern Italy/Switzerland (2013).
