Ootheca bennigseni Weise, 1900
This leaf beetle is found in central and southern parts of Africa. It feeds on leguminous plants, including crops like beans, cowpeas or pigeonpea. The larvae attack the roots, while the adults cut characteristic round holes into the leaves. The damage can result in significant yield losses.
