Onagraceae (weeds) - (evening primrose family)

This is a small family of herbaceous plants and shrubs, including a few trees, with around 650 species. The family is widely distributed. Some species are grown as ornamentals, but others are agricultural weeds. For example Oenothera laciniata affects a number of crops in North America. The flowers are usually radially symmetric with 4 petals and 4 or 8 stamens arranged in 1 or 2 whorls. The seeds are typically tiny.
