Nosema bombycis (Naegeli, 1857) (entomopathogen)
This microsporidian species is mainly known as a disease of silkworm cultures in Asia (see Nosema bombycis as silkworm disease). However, it has been also studied as a possible biological control agent against Lepidopteran pests like Plutella xylostella. This page covers its beneficial aspects.
