Verändern pflanzenbürtige Effekte die Virulenz des Kernpolyedervirus HaSNPV gegenüber dem polyphagen Insekt Helicoverpa armigera (Lep., Noctuidae)?
[Do plant metabolites change the virulence of the nucleopolyhedrovirus HaSNPV for the polyphagous host insect Helicoverpa armigera (Lep., Noctuidae)?]

Abstract: Potential effects of plant metabolites evoked by induced resistance, or of differences in the constitutive chemical composition of plants, on the infectivity of a baculovirus for its polyphagous host insect were studied. Plant reactions, caused by induced resistance after infection with a phytopathogen, after treatment with a botanical inducer or after previous herbivore damage did not significantly affect the activity of the virus. In contrast, a remarkable effect on virulence was found, when the baculovirus was applied on the foliage of different food plant species.
