The oat blue dwarf virus infects oats and barley in North America and parts of Europe. Maize, other cereals, and a number of other crops can be also infected experimentally. On oats, the symptoms include stunting, bluish-green foliage, enations on leaf and stem veins, and sterile florets. The virus is transmitted by leafhoppers like Macrosteles quadrilineatus.
