Malvaceae (weeds) - (mallow family)

This is a large family of flowering plants with more than 200 genera and more than 4000 species, including various important weeds like velvetleaf or prickly sida. The plants are herbs or shrubs and the leaves are often dentate with a vein ending at the tip of each tooth. The flowers are often large with 5 petals. The seed capsule is also usually divided into 5 or more sections.
