Linognathus pedalis (Osborn, 1896) - (sheep foot louse)

This sucking louse is widely distributed and infests the feet and belly of sheep. Heavy infestations can result in lameness and weight loss of the animals. In extreme cases, it may cause death of the host. Infestations are usually controlled by driving the sheep through a bath of insecticides.
