Lepus timidus Linnaeus 1758 - (mountain hare)

This hare is found in northern Europe, the Alps and northern Russia. It is usually not considered a pest, although it can damage seedlings of forest trees by feeding on the bark and branches. Actually, in some areas it is threatened by the invasive European hare (Caravaggi et al., 2017).
