Leptocorisa oratoria (Fabricius, 1794)
L. oratoria is one of several species of plant bugs feeding on the developing grains of rice plants and causing pecky-rice in Asia. It is found in southern Asia and parts of Australia. The attacked ears produce discoloured grains, or unfilled and partially filled grains. The affected rice grains have a low commercial value, are of poor quality and a reduced germination rate (Jahn et al., 2004). L. oratoria is morphologically similar to Leptocorisa acuta, but wider and slightly larger.
