Relative abundance of exotic and native Coccinellidae (Coleoptera) in southeast Nebraska alfalfa
Journal of Entomological Science 41 (1), 84-86
Abstract: Fourty alfalfa fields in Nebraska were surveyed for predatory insects in between 2001 and 2003. Six species of Coccinellidae were collected and their abundance was compared with a similar survey conducted between 1992 and 1995 by Wright and DeVries (2000). The abundance of the exotic species (Coccinella septempunctata and Harmonia axyridis) was slightly higher in recent years compared to native species, although considerable variation was found from year to year.
