Itoplectis maculator (parasitoid) (Fabricius, 1775)
This wasp is native to Europe and has been introduced into North America against the spruce budworm (Choristoneura fumiferana) (Bartlett et al., 1978). It is an endoparasitoid of a wide range of lepidopteran pupa and prepupae, mainly from the family Tortricidae. However, hosts from other families (e.g. Gracillariidae or Yponomeutidae) and even from Coleoptera have been also reported (e.g. see Soczynski & Gantner, 1998).
