Hypocreales (weed pathogens)
This is a large order of ascomycete fungi which are mainly defined by their genetic structure. Members (for which sexual stages are known) form perthecia which are often brightly coloured. The group includes many plant pathogenic species, including those which cause diseases on weeds and are of interest as biological control agents.
