Hymenoscyphus Gray 1821
This is a large genus of ascomycete fungi with more than 100 species. The most important plant pathogen is Hymenoscyphus fraxineus, causing ash dieback. The species are characterized by their DNA structure and by having a special type of apical ring on the ascus.
