Haemaphysalis concinna Koch, 1844 - (relict tick)
The tick is found in Europe and Asia. It is a vector of several virus and bacterial diseases like tularaemia. Nymphs usually feed on rodents but also on birds, while adults prefer larger mammals, including humans and domestic animals. The species can harbour several disease agents, e.g. Babesia. The unfed females have a length of 3-4 mm. The colour is brown with a dark pattern on the scutum.
