Gronotoma micromorpha (parasitoid) (Perkins, 1910)
This wasp is found in eastern Asia, parts of the Pacific, and in Florida. It is a solitary parasitoid of leafminers from the genus Liriomyza, and reproduces thelytokously (females develop from unfertilized eggs).
In some countries (Japan and Guam), it is an important parasitoid of Liriomyza leafminers, especially Liriomyza trifolii. Mainly leafminer larvae are parasitized, but eggs and pupae can be also accepted as hosts. Development from egg to mature larva can be completed in 4 days.
The length of the forewings is 1.0-1.5 mm. Head, mesosoma and metasoma are reddish brown, antennae, legs and mouthparts yellowish brown.
