Effects of insecticides on mole crickets: (Orthoptera : Gryllotalpidae: Scapteriscus)
Florida Entomologist 57 (4), 414-414
Abstract: This note points out that merely counting dead specimens of Scapteriscus acletus and S. vicinus on the soil surface following insecticide treatment does not give an accurate picture of insecticidal efficacy as there may be more dead specimens below the surface. Sampling of live animals following chemical application and measuring surface burrows or activity are suggested.
