Fabavirus betaviciae
Assigned virus:
• broad bean wilt virus 2 (BBWV2)
Broad bean wilt virus 2 is found in Europe and Asia. It has a wide host range and infects many economically important vegetable and ornamental plants. The symptoms include stunting, necrosis and yellow mosaic on the leaves. Structurally, it is closely related to the broad bean wilt virus 1, assigned to Fabavirus alphaviciae.
'Patchouli mild mosaic virus' is regarded as a separate strain of broad bean wilt virus 2 (Ikegami et al., 2002).
