Erythraeidae
The mite family Erythraeidae contains mainly predators that prey on other arthropods, see Erythraeidae (predators/ectoparasites). However, Balaustium medicagoense is an important pest of cereal, lupin, and canola crops as well as pastures in southern parts of Australia (but this species has been also reported to be a beneficial predator). In addition, the related species Balaustium murorum has been reported to occasionally invade building and biting humans, causing intense itching.
