Eocanthecona furcellata (predator) (Wolff, 1811)
This shield bug is found in tropical and subtropical parts of Asia and is an important polyphagous predator of Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera larvae. It is being studied as a possible biological control agent against insect pests of various crops like cotton or vegetables. Prey species include Spodoptera and Helicoverpa larvae. The adults are around 15 mm long with two lateral spines on the pronotum.
