Echium vulgare (weed) L. - (blueweed or viper’s bugloss)
This plant has blue or purple flowers and is often grown as an ornamental. It is native to Europe and western Asia, but alien and introduced in North and South America. In grasslands, it is toxic to livestock. It also grows in disturbed habitats. While it is normally not competing with crops, it serves as an alternate host for fungal pathogens.
