Doryctobracon Enderlein, 1920
This genus of parasitoids contains around 10 species and is widely distributed in Central and South America. The members are solitary koinobiont endoparasitoids which develop in late instar fruit fly larvae, mainly from the genus Anastrepha. The most important species is Doryctobracon areolatus which parasitizes species like Anastrepha fraterculus and A. obliqua. The genus is characterized by the morphology of the head and the forewing venation.
